Since 2012, Freedom Challenge has granted millions of dollars through faithful partners. We evaluate the ministry needs annually and are intentional about how the funds are dispersed. Historically about 56% has gone toward Prevention; 26% toward Development; and 18% toward Rescue and Restoration projects.
Each project must submit an annual plan and a report at the end of the calendar year, plus quarterly impact stories detailing progress toward set goals. We maintain a direct line of communication with the leaders and periodically visit to monitor impact and effectiveness.
The timing of Freedom Challenge’s grant cycle depends on our annual Challenge events. We do not hold onto these funds for prolonged periods; rather, once the Challenge fundraising season is complete, we send the funds to the projects in order to immediately impact vulnerable and marginalized women and children.
All of the funds raised go toward OM’s mission—to impact the least reached. The majority of your gift goes directly to benefit vulnerable and marginalized women and children around the world. 15% of your gift is allocated to OM’s Annual Fund. This provides stewardship and financial accountability through annual independent audits, and helps expand our advocacy efforts to engage more women in the fight against human trafficking. 3% is allocated to support OM’s work around the world.
Freedom Challenge’s operating costs are part of OM USA’s expense budget. Our program expenses are not deducted from gifts to Freedom Challenge or fundraising efforts.
