Peace Intercession

FREEDOM to Intercede for Peace

By Ruth Willett | Freedom Challenge

As the Adirondacks Challenge unfolds, we find ourselves not just walking trails, but walking in purpose. Each step taken by the women on this journey is a declaration: We will not be silent. We will not be still. We will intercede for peace.

Psalm 85 reminds us that God promises peace to His people. But this peace is not passive—it is powerful. The Hebrew word shalom means more than calm or quiet; it means to destroy the authority that establishes chaos. And when we look at the reality of human trafficking—over 50 million enslaved worldwide—we see chaos. We see darkness. But we also see a God who speaks peace into it.

This episode of the Freedom Challenge podcast is a call to prayer. Ruth Willett leads us through Psalm 85 in the Passion Translation, pausing to reflect, pray, and invite listeners into a deeper awareness of God’s heart. We are reminded that peace is not just a feeling—it is a force. It is a weapon in the hands of a mighty God who fights for the vulnerable.

We breathe in hope and exhale surrender through breath prayers:

  • Inhale: “Lord” | Exhale: “Here I am.”

  • Inhale: “O God who sees” | Exhale: “Strengthen me to do your will.”

  • Inhale: “Break the bonds of slavery” | Exhale: “Let freedom and healing flow.”

These prayers are not just poetic—they are powerful. They connect us to the heart of God and to the reality that our steps matter. Ruth shares testimonies of arrests made, children rescued, and perpetrators held accountable—some of which happened in New York around the time of previous Freedom Challenge events. These stories are proof that God is moving. And He invites us to move with Him.

We are reminded that our bodies, our choices, our thoughts—they all belong to God. When we surrender control, we make space for His peace to reign. When we intercede, we partner with heaven to bring restoration to earth.

Whether you are hiking in the Adirondacks, walking your neighborhood, or praying from your living room, this blog is an invitation: Intercede for peace. Believe that your prayers carry weight. Trust that your steps are part of a greater story.

God is not silent. He is not still. He is speaking peace. He is destroying chaos. And He is using us—flawed, faithful, willing—to bring freedom.

Let freedom and healing flow. Let peace reign. Let your prayers rise.
